The Darkness Ablaze expansion, released on August 14, 2020, was the third set in the Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield series. This set introduced Charizard VMAX, one of the most anticipated cards of the era, featuring the Gigantamax form of Charizard with powerful attacks. Alongside Charizard, the set also included other VMAX Pokémon such as Eternatus VMAX, Grimmsnarl VMAX, and Centiskorch VMAX, bringing new strategies to the game.
